Rainer Basfeld studied Physics in Münster, where he also worked as a research assistant in the fields of research and teaching and took his doctorate. In 1993, he started his training at the law office FRITZ, which he completed successfully as a German and European patent attorney in 1997/1998.

As a physicist, Mr Basfeld is an expert in the fields of optics and laser technology. As a lawyer, he is active in German and international patent law, whereby he both files patent applications and checks and follows patent violations.

In private, the father of two sons is a gourmet and a cosmopolitan traveller. In order to remain physically fit, he swims regularly and hikes occasionally.

Marco Hoffmann has occupied himself with industrial property rights and competition law for over 25 years. He executes patent violation lawsuits which are often accompanied by patent nullity proceedings in close collaboration with his patent attorney colleagues at FRITZ. Marco Hoffmann can boast particularly wide-ranging experience in design law from violation lawsuits, nullity and cancellation procedures as well as registration consultancy. He has also counted business secrets law to his specialist areas for several years.

He makes use of his wide-ranging experience from procedures before German and also international courts and patent authorities in his counselling interviews, mostly for medium-sized clients.

Marco Hoffmann is a member of the Law Commission of the BVMW organisation for the area of patent law and a certified BVMW consultant. Moreover, he is a member of the professional association GRUR [German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property] and of the Deutscher Anwaltverein DAV [German Lawyers’ Society]. Furthermore, he is a board member of the conciliation committee at the IHK [German Chamber of Commerce and Trade] in Arnsberg.

Jörg Graefe studied electrotechnology at the TU [Technical University] Darmstadt and the Université Libre de Bruxelles [Free University of Brussels]. Since then, Jörg Graefe has worked in the field of industrial property rights. He completed his training as a patent attorney in 2001 and has worked for the law office FRITZ since then.

In the law office, he looks after the clients for German and international patent and trademark matters including questions of violation and employee invention law.

In private, he enjoys being out and about outdoors, loves travelling, goes running and cycles with pleasure and can often be found on the water in summer.

Jochen Schäperklaus studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) and the Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble as a scholarship holder of the German-French university. He completed his studies in Grenoble with the “Maîtrise” in 2006 and also worked in a research laboratory there and completed his studies in Karlsruhe with a diploma in 2008.

Following this, Jochen Schäperklaus began training as a patent attorney, which he concluded successfully in 2012. He has worked for the law office FRITZ since then. His legal focus is German and international patent and utility model law. He teaches as a lecturer for patent and utility model law at the University of Applied Sciences South Westphalia.

Technically, Mr Schäperklaus primarily concerns himself with mechanical, electronic and software innovations. The family father’s hobbies include travel, music and skiing.

Christian Heckmann studied mechanical engineering in Dortmund, where he also worked as a research and teaching assistant and received his doctorate. In 2022, after completing his education, he was sworn in as a German and patent attorney.

As a mechanical engineer, Christian Heckmann  is an expert in the fields of mechanics and fluid mechanics and mass and heat transport, as well as design theory and machine elements. As a lawyer, he is active in German, European and international patent law, both preparing patent applications and examining and prosecuting patent infringements.

 In his private life, the father of two children is a family man. To stay physically fit, he enjoys hiking and swimming.

Eva Korff studied law with a focus on German and International Civil Procedure Law at the University of Passau. She completed her legal clerkship in 2022 at the Regional Court of Bochum. Eva Korff has been admitted to the bar and working for the firm FRITZ since 2023.

As a lawyer, she mainly deals with trademark and competition law as well as design law. One focus of interest is IT law.
In her private life, Eva Korff  is involved in various honorary offices.

To relax, she enjoys sports or being out in nature with her dog. She likes to travel, enjoys music and literature and has a special passion for surfing.

Rainer Basfeld studierte Physik in Münster, wo er auch als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in Forschung und Lehre tätig war und promoviert wurde. Im Jahre 1993 begann er seine Ausbildung in der Kanzlei FRITZ, die er in den Jahren 1997/1998 als deutscher und europäischer Patentanwalt erfolgreich abschloss.

Als Physiker ist Herr Basfeld Experte auf den Gebieten Optik und Lasertechnik. Anwaltlich betätigt er sich im deutschen und internationalen Patentrecht, wobei er sowohl Patentanmeldungen vornimmt als auch Patentverletzungen prüft und verfolgt.

Privat gilt der Vater zweier Söhne als Gourmet und welterfahrener Reisender. Um körperlich fit zu bleiben, schwimmt er regelmäßig und wandert gelegentlich.

Seit über 25 Jahren beschäftigt sich Marco Hoffmann mit dem Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und dem Wettbewerbsrecht. Patentverletzungsprozesse, die häufig von Patentnichtigkeitsverfahren begleitet werden, führt er in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Patentanwaltskollegen bei FRITZ. Im Designrecht verfügt Marco Hoffmann über eine besonders umfangreiche Erfahrung aus Verletzungsprozessen, Nichtigkeits- und Löschungsverfahren sowie Anmeldeberatungen. Seit einigen Jahren ist auch das Recht der Geschäftsgeheimnisse zu seinen Spezialgebieten zu zählen.

Die umfangreiche Erfahrung aus Verfahren vor deutschen und auch internationalen Gerichten und Patentbehörden lässt er in die Beratungsgespräche mit den überwiegend mittelständischen Mandanten einfließen.

Marco Hoffmann ist Mitglied der Kommission Recht des BVMW für den Bereich Patentrecht und vom BVMW zertifizierter Berater. Er ist außerdem Mitglied im Fachverband GRUR und im Deutschen Anwaltverein DAV. Weiterhin ist er im Vorstand der Einigungsstelle bei der IHK zu Arnsberg.

Jörg Graefe studierte Elektrotechnik an der TU Darmstadt und der Université Libre de Bruxelles. Seitdem arbeitet Jörg Graefe auf dem Gebiet des gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes. Im Jahr 2001 schloss er seine Ausbildung zum Patentanwalt ab und ist seitdem in der Kanzlei FRITZ tätig.

In der Kanzlei betreut er die Mandanten in deutschen und internationalen Patent- und Markensachen einschließlich Verletzungsfragen sowie im Arbeitnehmererfinderrecht.

Privat ist er gerne draußen unterwegs, reist gerne, geht gerne Laufen und Rad fahren und ist im Sommer oft im und auf dem Wasser zu finden.
